Jon, who is originally from the Bath area, acquired a taste for opera when he performed in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore (in which he played the Botswain) at the University of Portsmouth. 

Since his return to the area, he has thoroughly enjoyed performing musically with Bath Opera and White Horse Opera, performing in the chorus of La Giaconda, the Flying Dutchman and a concert version of Tales of Hoffman, and in White Horse Opera’s productions of Carmen and Tales of Hoffman (again!).

Earlier this year he played the part of Silvano in Bath Opera’s production of The Masked Ball.  He also sings with the Meridian Singers, based in Chippenham. Other musical performances include Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar and Oklahoma.  During the summer, Jon had a go at acting in the Holt Dramatic Society’s production of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, which was performed in a field, with barely a hint of a storm.
